Hershey Sees an Uptick in Arrests Due to Summer Concerts

Summer Concert Series has local Derry Township Police doing double duty for DUI, Underage Drinking and Drug Arrests

By Attorney Elisabeth Pasqualini, Criminal Law Division Leader, Harrisburg, PA

As I noted would be the case in a prior blog entitled "Hershey Summer Concert Series," there have been a wave of arrests stemming from the Hersheypark venues, such as the Giant Center, The Star Pavilion and the Hershey Park Stadium. Here are but a few of the headlines:

Summer Arrests at Kid Rock and Sheryl Crow Concert

11 arrested at Motley Crue concert in Hershey

13 arrested at Journey Concert in Hershey

With a large portion of the Summer Concert Series to go, the police in Dauphin County will be anxiously awaiting the New Kids on the Block and Backstreet Boys on July 30; Blink-182 on August 13; Maroon 5 and Train on August 15, 2011; and Selena Gomez and The Scene on August 21, 2011.

Possession of marijuana, drug paraphernalia, such as pipes, rolling papers and baggies is illegal in PA. It doesn't matter how much you have or if you were only passing a joint. Likewise, possession of an open container of alcohol in the parking lot may get you cited or arrested. If you are underage, you may lose your license in PA and your own state for 90 days. Contact local experienced counsel in Hershey for prompt advice. We're former prosecutors and have represented hundreds of these cases at Shaffer & Engle Law Offices, LLC.
